What started as a hobby, morphed into an unforeseen passion and career.
From a young age, I either had a pencil and sketch pad in my hands or I was watching The Saddle Club on repeat. My love and passion for art and horses ran deep and started early. I loved to draw, sketch or paint - primarily horses! How does this relate to photography you ask? Well, as I aged, I found myself picking up a new medium more often than a paint brush: a camera. I was drawn to photographing horses (naturally) and landscapes a lot. Over time, I started photographing people and quickly realized I loved expressing myself in a form other than a traditional sketch pad or canvas. By the time I graduated college in 2015, I had acquired my very first "professional" camera, and from there, the snowball began to roll. I photographed my very first wedding in 2017, quit my corporate job in early 2022, and the rest is history!
Outside my work, I love to spend summers on the lake in northern Wisconsin and winters on Sanibel Island (when I'm able!). I enjoy the occasional night out but am a natural homebody. I am a Christ follower that loves spending time in His creation alongside my husband and our golden retriever, Clifford.
I tend to experience nostalgia often. I yearn for those wonderful times and memories I have lived through and wish I could live them again. All the things that contribute to those memories; the lighting, the sounds, the colors, the setting, play such a big role in being able to put yourself right back in those moments. I gravitate towards photographing a scene or couple as if they were in a painting - the light and colors help tell the story of this ever beautiful moment.
Photography gives me a deep sense of fulfillment when I think about how important these life milestones are to the people I document. I live for the moments that allow you to be fully present and soak in all that's happening around you and feel incredibly honored to be entrusted to snap the shutter on these stories.
I aim to become not just another vendor who participates in your wedding day, but a friend and shoulder for all the exciting, joyful, tearful and wonderful times that happen on one of the biggest day of your life. I strive to capture the real, authentic, candid and natural moments both big and small; The ones that give you all the nostalgia and feels that put you right back in that day.

Choosing Emily as our photographer was an easy decision based on her beautiful photos we saw and the conversation we had while inquiring with her, but it absolutely proved to be the best decision that we could have made as we worked with her throughout the wedding planning process, for our engagement photos, and on our wedding day....

From the very first call with Emily, all the way through her editing some additional photos for us after our wedding, she was so wonderful to work with every step of the way! She is very communicative, timely (we got our sneak peaks within like 36 hours of our wedding!), personable, easy going, flexible, organized.. the list really goes on and on. Emily has such an eye for capturing the emotions that were felt throughout our wedding day, and the end results are just so beautiful with her editing style. You will not be disappointed with Emily as your photographer!
