I started painting and drawing from a young age and what that has taught me is to treat subjects and scenes that I photograph like a canvas.
Each element complimenting each other, telling a story, and setting the mood.
This is not just a job for me, this is my passion.
My creative journey started with a paint brush. And growing up I learned from the best artist I knew; My grandmother, Barbara. She taught me so much about painting, drawing, composition, technique, etc. But, as I aged, and painting became less convenient to do, I found myself drawn to photography. By the time I graduated college in 2015, my parents gifted me very first DSLR camera, and from there, the snowball began to roll. I photographed my first wedding in 2017, quit my corporate job in early 2022, and the rest is history! But the funny thing is, all the valuable lessons I learned from Gram, still remain relevant even with my changed medium. How color and light interact, how composition can transform a scene, and how much telling a story through that scene can impact someone. I carry those lessons with me as a beautiful reminder that these two creative outlets I love so much can be intertwined. I thank God everyday for those times I had learning from Gram, as they have transformed the way I see things as an artist.
Outside my work, I love to spend summers on the lake in northern Wisconsin and winters on Sanibel Island (when I'm able!). I enjoy the occasional night out but am a natural homebody. I am a Christ follower that loves spending time in His creation alongside my husband and our golden retriever, Clifford.
I am a laid back yet observant creative who aims to be the calm in your storm. My quiet nature allows genuine, real moments to play out and empowers my clients to be at ease and take in all the day has to offer.
I strive to become not just another vendor who participates in your wedding day, but a friend and shoulder for all the exciting, joyful, tearful and wonderful times that happen on one of the biggest days of your life. I capture the beauty alongside the honesty - both of which compliment one another in telling the beautiful story of your day.
The smells, sounds, colors etc.
I find myself become most peaceful when in nature and am able to tap into my creative side when in God's creation.
There is a reason why Pride & Prejudice is my favorite movie ;)
Favorite place I've ever traveled to!
Clifford the big gold dog. We love our crazy man!
The story of us started when we were 10 years old. Just two kids who met in northern Wisconsin and whose story lines were to forever be intertwined.
The joining of two stories, forever linked. Your day should not feel like a photoshoot or production but rather a perfect culmination of your history as a couple - celebrated in style!
Creating a natural and fun environment while also allowing space in which you can enjoy the littles you hold so dear. Engagements, Families, etc.
